Highway Design Engineer

Suyash Consulting, LLC (SuYash) is actively seeking a Highway Design Engineer to work in our Columbia, MD Office. The highway design engineer will serve in a technical role under the direction of a project manager for a wide array of planning and design services.

Responsibilities:

  • Design production of transportation projects in accordance with good engineering practice.

  • Calculate quantity estimates, developing horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-section development, drainage design, working with digital terrain models, and designing traffic control plans; coordinating and scheduling work to meet project goals on time and budget.

  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.

  • Preparation of technical reports and technical documentation of calculations performed.

  • Plans, Specifications and Construction cost estimating.

Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

  • Engineer-In-Training certification is required.

  • 2-4 years of previous roadway design/analysis experience (including internships) is preferred.

  • Previous work experience with AASHTO standards and MDOT SHA projects a plus.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, InRoads a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Position Type: Full Time/Part Time

Working Conditions for All Positions:

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sitting in nature but may require occasional standing, and walking. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
