Water Project Engineer

Suyash Consulting, LLC (SUYASH) is actively seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to work in our Columbia, MD Office. The water resources project engineer will serve in a technical role under the direction of a project manager for a wide array of planning and design services.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the planning and design efforts for a variety of water resources and site development projects.

  • Training and mentoring junior staff.

  • Coordination with clients and team members.

  • Preparation of technical reports and technical documentation of calculations performed.

  • Participation in proposal and business development efforts.

  • SWM design, erosion control, drainage, permitting, hydrologic/ hydraulic modeling, NPDES related services, and GIS/CADD skills. Other desired experience includes: watershed assessments, stream assessment/ restoration, water quality monitoring/ modeling.

  • Perform MDOT SHA PRD or MDE Project Reviews.

  • Construction cost estimating.

Requirements:

  • BSCE in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

  • 5-10 years of experience.

  • MDOT SHA PRD or MDE Project Review experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of MS Office, MicroStation, InRoads a plus.

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling programs and techniques including TR-20, TR-55, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, ABSCOUR, HEC-18 and HY-8.

  • P.E. preferred.

Position Type: Full Time/Part Time

Working Conditions for All Positions:

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sitting in nature but may require occasional standing, and walking. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
